Fuzzhugger Algal Bloom v2 - 12v or 18v ???

Post by thelucidnight »

I can't find the card that came with the pedal. I remember it said something about being able to use either 12v or 18v for more headroom? I can't find anything online that backs this up other than the card that came with the pedal.

Can anyone confirm this, and what exactly does that mean, more 'headroom' ? Thanks :)

It's definitely good with 12v.
I have to check individual v2s to know whether they can withstand 16-18v. Some v2s have electrolytics rated at 16v. (V3 uses all film, higher voltage.)
You can send me a pic or check it out yourself.
Some v2s have power filtering, all new Algal Blooms have power filtering, but if you take a risk and fuck it up, I'm always here to fix it.

Much appreciation for the response! I finally have a pedalboard now and I only have a pedal power iso 5. So I wanted to take advantage of the extra non 9v plugs! Just wasn't sure if I was suppose to use 12 or 18 for the v2.

I will definitely use the 12.

Btw I didn't even know ther was a v3!
